A tabular format for looking at verbs works well, so that is provided below for 4 different tenses 
Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple and Past Continuous

Present Simple I - eat breakfast every day.   
You - eat breakfast every day.

Present Cont. I am eating breakfast right now.   
You are eating breakfast right now.   
He is eating breakfast right now.   
She is eating breakfast right now.

They are eating breakfast right now.   
Past Simple I - ate breakfast yesterday.   
You - ate breakfast yesterday.   
He - ate breakfast yesterday.   
She - ate breakfast yesterday.

They - ate breakfast yesterday.   
Past Cont. I was eating breakfast when you rang.
